1. Young Ardnahoe - New Make Spirit

Initially, there is a lot of sweetness coming through, its texture is smooth and creamy. Then comes the fruitiness of the pears, apples, and mangos. There is also a nice aniseed flavour rising up. The smoky peat aromas start to appear at the end, which is exactly what we are looking for; Ardnahoe being an iconic, Islay new make spirit. - Fraser Hughes

25ml, 69% ABV.

2. Caol Ila aged 30 years - Kinship 2020

Honeydew melon on the nose with Maldon sea salt, smoked ham, bandages, candied almonds and Islay peat-smoked.

On the palate, there is a gristy malty note, lime zest, Seville orange, new leather, fine tobacco and a typical Caol Ila ashiness leading to a wonderfully refined finish.

25ml, 42.4% ABV.

3. Bowmore aged 30 years - Kinship 2019

An opening of bridled saltiness, balanced by the barley sweetness and the peat moor flora and fauna.

There is sweet oak, smoke, the briny hints of dry seaweed plus a hint of heather honey. Slow to arrive are the peaty notes we seek.

The oak is dramatically overtaken by an intense sweet smokiness in a wonderful twist of marine freshness. The light vanilla notes re-emerge in the infinite aftertaste. The combination of dried peat, vanilla, honey and pear on the palate is sensational.
